What is the difference between EAN-13, EAN-8, Code 128 and QR?
EAN-13 is the standard retail barcode: 13 digits with a check digit that is computed for you. EAN-8 is its short version, 8 digits, for packages too small for an EAN-13. Code 128 accepts letters, numbers and symbols (up to about 17–18 characters, or 34–36 digits, depending on the label size), useful for internal references. QR stores any text or link up to 100 characters, less on small labels like thermal-roll ones, and is read with a phone camera, not a laser scanner.
How do I print the labels so they line up with my sheets?
Pick the sheet that matches your paper: Letter 3x10 (Avery 5160), A4 3x7 (L7160) or A4 3x8 (L7159). When printing the PDF, turn off "fit to page" and print at 100% scale; any other value shifts the labels off the die-cut lines. For a thermal roll, choose "Thermal roll", enter the label size, columns and gaps, and follow the printing steps shown in the tool: the driver paper size must be the full row shown (not a single label), with the printer calibrated and 100% scale.
Can I generate several different products and several labels of each?
Yes. Write one product per line as code;name;price;quantity (name, price and quantity are optional); quantity is 1 if left empty. The total cannot exceed 1,500 labels per PDF.
Why does a line show an error?
It could be an invalid code for the chosen code type (for example, an EAN-13 or EAN-8 with the wrong check digit), a price that is not recognized, a quantity that is not a whole number from 1 to 1,500, or a code too long for the chosen label size: use a bigger label or shorten the code. Small labels, like thermal-roll ones, only fit a few lines of text: turn off "Show number", "Show name" or "Show price" until they fit.
Does this tool save or send my data to a server?
No. The PDF is generated entirely in your browser with JavaScript; nothing you type ever leaves your device or gets saved anywhere, except the thermal-roll measurements, which this browser remembers for next time. If you open it from the built-in browser inside Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, the download may fail: open it in Safari or Chrome instead. Characters outside the PDF's standard Western alphabet show up as "?".
