The night surcharge starts at 7:00 PM from December 25, 2025 onward (before that, at 9:00 PM, under Law 2466 of 2025) and ends at 6:00 AM; the calculator automatically splits each shift’s hours between day and night based on the schedule in effect on the shift’s date.
Hours worked on a Sunday or holiday are paid as HEDD (day) or HEND (night): the full hour plus the overtime surcharge (25% daytime or 75% night) plus the Sunday/holiday surcharge in effect on that date, which under Law 2466 of 2025 rises from 75% to 80% starting July 2025, to 90% starting July 2026, and to 100% starting July 2027.
Each shift is split by the real day: hours before midnight count toward the shift’s date, and hours from 12:00 AM onward count toward the next day, with its own night schedule and its own surcharge if that next day is a Sunday or holiday.
The hourly value is the monthly salary divided by the monthly hours of the legal schedule in effect on the shift’s date (Law 2101 of 2021): the weekly schedule steps down from 46 hours through July 14, 2025, to 44 hours through July 14, 2026, and to 42 hours from then on; the monthly divisor is the weekly schedule times 5.
This calculator only settles OVERTIME hours (beyond the schedule). Ordinary-schedule surcharges (night, Sunday or holiday hours within the regular schedule) and compensatory rest are out of scope — Renaska Human Resources calculates those surcharges as part of full payroll.
